I reference this a lot, but I do not talk about it. Most places in America have some nearby Renaissance Festival. My city is no exception. Several years back I had the honor of being in the first Nubian Court. It was a joy for me. In part because I had to take the same World History class at least three times, I gained an appretiation for the time period. In all my education, Africa was rarely spoken of. Plus I have no viable connection to the continent. It was welcoming to bring something to life, to see kids and parents alike respond positively.
